It sounds like nothing you've ever done before and everything you've ever done before. The vocals and guitars are just excellent, any more would be to much. The bowed bass during some of the choruses is a very nice touch. The break in the middle with the guitar coming back in makes the entire song flow very nicely. The ending took me by surprise (again), but works very well.

I'll probably have that chorus in my head for the next several days.

Later,
Fred

Comment on PADCAST #11: RSD09 - Cath Carroll Hosts Record Store Day Part 2

Great show guys.

Tempo Records was my arbiter of cool for all of my high school years and most of college.

I have to share my memory of my shortest visit to that store. I walked into Tempo Records one afternoon and only had money for 1 album. I expected this to take awhile. But as I walked over to the bins I noticed the music that was playing on the stereo. It had the swushy guitar sound of Jimi Hendrix but wasn't, and the vocals certainly weren't Hendrix.

Then the song hit the guitar solo and I think my head popped up like a prairie dog to find out what that sound was. I looked right at the girl behind the counter who held up the album jacket, pointed to a display at the end of the aisle and said Robin Trower "Bridge of Sighs". Needles to say I had made my choice.

I couldn't get home fast enough to listen to that record ALL the way through. Which I did 3 times in a row. So, by the end of the day another Guitar God wannabe had been born.

Later,
Fred
